My Superhero Unveiled

My superhero let me down when I found out she was just an ordinary human. I finally got to see her in person and she walked straight passed me. I clenched my black marker in my hand next to my favorite picture of her, ready for my hero’s autograph! I patiently waited all day in stormy weather for her to arrive. A glow used to surround her skin on TV like a burst of sunlight, but not anymore. There was a dull shadow that surrounded her now. Her eyes struck me like a bad flash of lightening as she let her thoughts take control of every innocent moment. She pierced a hole through my chest with her judgmental stare, as she told her entourage what she thought of me. I couldn’t tell if she was miserable inside or if she really thought I was the problem. I was taken back at her repugnant statements while I stood there watching. My superhero wasn’t an ordinary human after all, she was a villain in the flesh. Before she walked off and disappeared I yelled out her name as I crumpled my favorite photo of her in my hand, cocked back my arm and aimed for her head. It soared through her entourage as she slowly turned her face around to look at the “peasant” who called her name. I smiled as I watched it smacked her right in the face while her entourage came to her rescue. I became my own super hero that day when I walked away. I knew I was the only one who could never let me down.
